Caucasus range is extending for 1200 km from the great plains of Russia to the mountainous territories of Transcaucausia, from the Black sea to west to Caspian sea to east, forming both geographic, ethnic and political barrier. The Great Caucasus is traditionally divided into three regions - Western, Central and Eastern, with conventional borders coming through two highest peaks: Mt. Elbrus (5642 m) to the west and Mt. Kazbek (5033 m) to the east. It is between these two giants that the most beautiful mountains of Caucasus rising up. To the north, somewhere in the plain, there is Mineral Vody airport and a web of roads coming to the valleys of the northern side of Caucasus.
